What happened with this guy. He was rated highly and was seen as a bit of a coup to steal him from our rivals City last year, but a year and a half on and he is sent out cold, released, kicked out the door, booted into oblivion, left to rot, we literally did a "ditch the bitch"!

It wasnt a coup at all really. He was out of contract with City as far as I remember. He was v highly rated when he was 16.
Hes no particular loss anyway...

I don't think he was that highly rated when we nicked him from City. I remember a number of people who know what they're talking about (certainly much more than I do!) commenting that it was a slightly odd one, since he was by no means one of City's stand-out players. And while he's been ok, I can't disagree much with the decision to let him go. We have a couple of better prospects at both full-back and centre-back. I'm sure he'll have a good career at a decent level of football, but he's never shown signs of being United quality. |

He was highly rated when he was much younger and captained Switzerland winning World Cup at a young level (U18?).
When we signed he wasn't rated that much, and never shown signs that he will be a United level player.
While this is good for both United and him, I can't feel good that a fellow Kosovan isn't playing for United anymore, but hey, we have Januzaj.
